Dr. Maria J. Bertorello

 

Maria J. Bertorello, DPM, is a Houston Podiatrist certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Bertorello was raised overseas and was exposed to a variety of cultures throughout her childhood. Dr. Bertorello has made her home in Houston since 1991 when she moved from Chicago to complete her surgical residency. Houston has a large Hispanic population and this has enabled her to take advantage of being bilingual.

Dr. Bertorello was accepted early to Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine after completing three years of undergraduate studies. She received an academic scholarship for her first year of attendance. Following podiatry school, she completed a two-year surgical residency at the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency. Upon completion, she then joined a group Podiatry practice until forming Central Foot & Ankle Associates, P.A. with Dr. Nachmani in 2007. She has been practicing in the Houston area for 19 years.

Since beginning practice, Dr. Bertorello has been active in her community and profession. Dr. Bertorello has held offices in the local Harris County Podiatric Medical Society. She has also held various board positions with the Podiatric Medical Residency and is involved daily with the education of podiatric residents. She has lectured locally to a variety of interest groups.

Dr. Bertorello is married,with 2 children. She has  one daughter,Sophia, and one son, Val Michael. Inbetween working and keeping up with family activities, Dr. Bertorello enjoys being outdoors and staying active. She and her husband Val Jeffry Miller, are members of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.

Dr. Bertorello believes that a foot specialist can provide exceptional care in their area of expertise. Her practice philosophy is to treat conservatively and with preventative care when possible, and to treat surgically when necessary. Dr. Bertorello offers a patient a caring physician with years of experience and thousands of successful patient outcomes.
